- NRG Distributed Energy Resources is looking for a Customer Care Representative to join our Bill Management team. The individual in this role will be responsible for the daily operation and account management for our utility bill management customers. This representative will also lead the implementation efforts of new utility bill management customers, interfacing with customers as well as our bill management partner to ensure all data and documentation is received, organized and processed in a timely manner.
The day to day operations of utility bill management include, but are not limited to:
Oversee new customer implementation efforts which include but are not limited to: organize customer bill copies to develop site cross-reference and GL file, verify customer funding preference and set clear expectations for customer go-live date
Communicate effectively (via telephone and e-mail) with Bill Management customers and vendors by managing complex billing and payment questions
Act as a liaison between customers, utilities, and other vendors, providing clear communication to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely fashion
Review and respond to billing inquiries that include but are not limited to: utility shut off prevention and resolution as well as late fee and deposit reconciliation
Creation and execution of vendor letters of authorization
Providing weekly and monthly billing reporting as needed
Open office environment.
Some overtime required as special projects arise.
Associate s Degree in Business, Communications or Related Field. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent amount of education and/or experience may be considered.
Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Demonstrated ability to be detail and task oriented.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both individually and in a team setting
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with both colleagues and customers
Experience in the energy industry
Experience working with third-party vendors and end-user customers to answer questions and resolve issues
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to thrive in a team environment but also work independently to achieve project goals
A proactive approach to learning new information
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while still meeting deadlines
Organized, task-oriented and have great attention to detail
Ability to use internet tools for research purposes
Will be required to perform additional duties as requested, directed or assigned
