*JOB SUMMARY*

The Settlements Coordinator will perform generation meter settlements, administrative, accounting, financial, and personnel functions as directed by and in support of the Administration Manager.

*JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Follow safety procedures and safe working practices to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Assists the Administration Manager in providing Personnel Administration as required by corporate policy.

  • Certified Scheduling Coordinator (SC) with California Independent System Operator (CAISO)

  • Responsible for all CAISO settlement statements. Download and validate daily data from CAISO Scheduling Infrastructure and Business Rules (SIBR) and CAISO Market Results Interface (CMRI) systems. This includes verifying hourly SC schedules, meter reads, recorded phone logs, and daily logbook entries. Communicate with CAISO meter data personnel to ensure valid meter data.

  • Download and validate bi-monthly invoices from CAISO MRI-Settlements application. Ensure timely and accurate wire payment of all CAISO invoices. Estimate future payables and receivables to/from the CAISO to alert management of security requirements.

  • Estimate and reconcile the allocation of CAISO charges and payments with each contracted entity, and MSCC on a 5-minute basis. Ensure that all CAISO charge types are allocated appropriately based on contract

  • Communicate with contracted entity representatives to confirm the methodologies of CAISO charges and ensure timely payments.

  • Participate in working groups/meetings with CAISO on upcoming market changes and current issues.

  • Administers quarterly random drug screenings per DOT substance policy. Set up new hire drug screenings, and maintain confidential DOT files.

  • Maintains and updates files and spreadsheets related to plant daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly operational, production, and financial data.

  • Generates monthly accrual data relating to accounting of power contracts and steam generation, gas usage, station light & power, water, and related inventories.

  • Compiles the Monthly Operating Report (MOR) and graphs to summarize revenues and administrative and operational expenses for management. Maintains and updates the MOR database.

  • Monitors and maintains knowledge of power sales contracts, in order to balance power sales of the overall plant to each contract.

  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable (A/R) and invoicing contracts monthly. Ensure accurate and timely payments are received from contract counterparties.

  • Forecast revenues and expenses for net income estimates on a monthly basis, and maintain cash flow worksheet for management decisions. Reconcile cash flow with financial reporting group.

  • Forecast monthly fuel usage using projected outage plans and projected electricity production.

  • Review monthly financial statements from financial accounting entity to ensure accuracy. Assist auditors and financial accounting entity with yearend audit of financial statements.

  • Monitors daily plant status reports and ensure the validity of data. Obtain and ensure accurate data on all electrical meters and steam volumes.

  • Completes annual thermodynamic efficiency reports for the QF contracts.

  • Calculate and report the Equivalent Availability Factor on a monthly basis.

  • Compile quarterly Air Quality Reports and Annual Operating Report for the Compliance Manager.

  • Responsible for assisting the compiling and submitting of monthly and quarterly compliance reporting to the Department of Energy (DOE) and the California Energy Commission (CEC). These reports include but are not limited to; monthly electrical and steam generation, monthly fuel BTU content, fuel usage, and total fuel cost.

  • Assist in the development and completion of other daily, monthly, and annual operations reports as assigned.

  • Complete/update portions of the annual budget as directed by the Administration Manager. Compile the annual hours of peak production for use in the annual budget.

  • Supply Administration Manager with revenue/volumetric/expense/payroll data for monthly reports.

  • Back up fuel administrator in the absence of Administration Manager.

  • Develops new and/or revises existing office procedures as required or directed.

  • Participates in cross-training, assists in special projects, and performs other duties and responsibilities as directed.

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with management, partnership, station personnel, and outside contacts.

  • Tutor, instruct, train, and assist other personnel as required.

  • Travel for training and/or other company business. This includes travel by automobile and commercial airlines.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

_CONTACTS_

  • Daily contact with supervisory and non-supervisory staff.

  • Frequent contact with partnership personnel to exchange information.

  • Regular contact with contract counterparty employees to exchange and verify information.

*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering and/or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered

  • Minimum of 1 year of related business experience in an accounting, administrative office and/or engineering environment**


*ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*

  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance such as NERC, WECC Reliability Standards, and DOT

  • Knowledge of Station Administrative Orders, SOP s,Midway-Sunset accident prevention rules and safe work practices.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, and to assist in leading, guiding, and directing accounting and clerical work.

  • The ability to work with PC's, strong knowledge of spreadsheet applications, and learn quickly.

*WORKING CONDITIONS*

  • Predominantly office with minimal outside work.
