The Strategy & Market Intelligence Business Analyst will research and compile information to provide insight to enable broad understanding of the power and energy markets leading into the potential sales of energy products and services. The research provided will aid in crafting creative, energy solutions designed to meet the needs of individual customers in the new, clean energy economy. Ultimately, the job would be to carry out research studies and insight initiatives to deliver recommendations for revenue driving, product and market opportunities and to assist in the decision-making process of a diverse account team whose members include sales people, sustainability specialists, financial modeling analysts, and executive leadership.
Work closely with the business groups to understand and support the business goals. This will include defining and working on ad-hoc primary research (qualitative and quantitative), market segmentation, drawing on various market reports, surveys, and sales data.
Work on insight programs and analysis, both routine and ad-hoc, to provide actionable market and customer insight
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, customer insight and sales analysis for the power market and beyond
Research and monitor various markets, industries and companies for which we provide energy services
Collect data from primary research, customer database systems and other data intelligence systems to provide timely and accurate market and customer information which informs business development activities and wider decision making
Condense multiple data points into insightful and clear learnings and implications
Remain on top of market trends at all times, be the voice to the business on changes in the energy market and other external trends that affect the business
Present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely
Produce periodic business /market intelligence reports
Work on multiple projects and coordinate work efforts with other team members
- Normal Business hours; some overtime required as special project arise; normal office environment; Location is Princeton, NJ
Master s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required preferably in a business, economics, engineering or a statistical discipline
2 years of experience with behind the meter energy storage.
3 or more yearsof experience with behind the meter energy storage.
2 or more years of related experience, utilizing statistical analysis to drive business benefit with proven returns
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A proven track record in analysis and insight with the ability to explain analytical work in a logical way, verbally and written, to provide insight and recommendations to a non-analytical audience
Proven experience in working with data, analysis and interpretation skills
Strong communication (verbal, written), presentation, and consultative skills
Strong aptitude for creative thinking in combination with a proven ability to work analytically and creatively in a problem-solving environment.
Preferred experience in energy or alternative energy industry and understanding of the issues and opportunities surrounding the changing energy industry and sustainability on the business environment
Results driven and able to work to tight deadlines
Advanced in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Preferred working skills in SQL, data management and reporting
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
CRM experience is a PLUS
Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
